Corlis Pate Memorial Endowed Scholarship
In Memory Of
Corlis Pate, MS, RD, LD, FADE was known as a trailblazer when it came to
setting up a nutrition consulting practice in the West Texas area and being a role
model in the field.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics at
Texas Tech University in 1979 and Masters of Science in Nutrition from Texas
Tech University in 1985.  In 1983 she started her private consulting practice where
she worked for the next 24 years in a variety of health care settings including
physician offices, Head Start programs, long term care facilities, and food service.  
Her influence has been felt not only by fellow dietitians, but by patients and co-
workers as well.  During the past 5 years of her life, while battling breast cancer
metastases she continued to do what brought her great joy and satisfaction.  She
truly believed in the value and importance of nutrition and was able to convey
that in extraordinary ways.


The Lubbock Dietetic Association wishes to honor Corlis Pate’s contributions to
the advancement of medical nutrition therapy and the nutrition consulting field
with the TDAF Corlis Pate Memorial Endowed Scholarship.  We hope that you will
